Celina did her Master’s Thesis at ITP about desire. She chose to use projections on smoke as her medium and it came out beautifully.

Peak Power

Firefly 870 Prototype is the headline piece at the ArtLog House at the Northside Festival. The event is a 3 day long music and art festival in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. There will be an artist reception and opening this coming Thursday from 7-8PM. Click on the image for a link to the event page.

This project, featured at the MoMA in New York, uses a custom array of flexible solar panels to generate electricity, while at the same time, creating beautiful visual patterns in response to the wind.

A particularly awesome project

I tried to arranged 2 circular groups of rare earth magnets to achieve levitation. Apparently, it is impossible according to Earnshaw’s Theorem.

However, there are certain ways to get around Earnshaw, which states that a system of solid state magnets will never reach a static equilibrium. Various levitation techniques utilize varying magnetic fields and movement within the system.

I recently constructed a raw iron frame for the mechanical bellows project I have been working on. It is a commission for artist, Inmi Lee.

Lights on is an audio visual performance created for the Ars Electronica museum in Linz, Austria, which has a facade that contains 1085 LED controllable windows. The windows’ colors are changed in realtime with music that’s broadcasted on speakers surrounding the building.
