This is an early stage version of my final project. I initially set out to have images bouncing off the edges of real objects. As it turns out, the most interesting part of this video is recursive interaction of the balls as they interact with each other. A video is taken with a webcam and fed into a computer running Processing. Processing runs an edge-finding program that detects differences in neighboring pixels in the video and turns those pixels red. You can set the threshold for the contrast with the keyboard arrows. Then, the Processing output is projected out onto a wall. The video camera is trained on this same area of wall, creating an infinite loop. I am thinking about making 3-D objects instead of balls… possibly flying insects.
