Lumigraphie

January 18, 2012

A new discipline of lighting as defined by Bastien Carre. Lumigraphie is the process of creating illuminated electrical structures. Bastien and I contacted each other over the internet because of our mutual exploration into this medium. He has been working on a web location for examples and resources related to this discipline. The new site is here. Bastien’s Website is linked here.

Point/counter-point as it relates to the production of public art, and the constant balance of appeasing everyone involved.

This group of environmentally conscious citizens is really pissed off at christo’s plan to put fabric over the arkansas river… i can identify with both sides of the debate

Harun Farocki at the MoMA

September 16, 2011

Harun Farocki has a great show up at the MoMA now titled “Images of War (At a Distance)”. It is about the relationship between production and war, examining how innovation in the military relates to civilian innovation and private enterprise. It highlights technologies like computer vision, spatial awareness in machines and machine decision making. Highly recommend.
