A new discipline of lighting as defined by Bastien Carre. Lumigraphie is the process of creating illuminated electrical structures. Bastien and I contacted each other over the internet because of our mutual exploration into this medium. He has been working on a web location for examples and resources related to this discipline. The new site is here. Bastien’s Website is linked here.

Harun Farocki at the MoMA

September 16, 2011

Harun Farocki has a great show up at the MoMA now titled “Images of War (At a Distance)”. It is about the relationship between production and war, examining how innovation in the military relates to civilian innovation and private enterprise. It highlights technologies like computer vision, spatial awareness in machines and machine decision making. Highly recommend.
